Your Differential Is the Gearing That Sends Power to Your Axles
Once your engine generates power for your vehicle, it goes through a complex system of gears in order to transfer it into forward motion. One of the most important pieces of this process is your differential.
Your differential is powered by your transmission via the driveline. Your driveline runs down your vehicle and turns the gears in your differential, which sends power to the axles. Your differential is geared so that it can deliver different amounts of torque to each wheel. This allows one wheel to turn slower than the other when you are going through a turn.
